Today we had a great adventure....which includes sitting on a VERY fast rollercoaster...BECAUSE....we went to MOVIE WORLD!!!!!!! very cool!!!! lots of fun rides... like the SUPERMAN ESCAPE which is a very very very fast, high rollercoaster, and another ride in the WILD WEST SECTION of the park on which we all got a lot splashed! we also found out that if you buy a SHREK PLASTIC CUP you can refill it with either a drink or popcorn. The STUNT CARS SHOW was really cool! There were CARS!!!! and they did STUNTS!!!!! Some of the cars went ON TWO WHEELS! AND DROVE AROUND...ON TWO WHEELS! very very cool. the other picture is us on the WILD WEST RIDE. Dad and catherine were the only ones brave enough to go on the BATMAN RIDE which you sat on...and then go UP...and UP...and UP! and then DOWN! . catherine and sam went on the looney tunes ROAD RUNNER roller coaster, which sam luved and catherine thought was slightly slow after the SUPERMAN ROLLERCOASTER. A great day and very v. v.v. fun!!!!!!!!

Movie World!!!!

Tuesday...

Well, I guess if a day has no plans...nothing much gets done! So apart from a wander around the local shops and an afternoon in the library...we have just hung out!
Oh, we did go to a breakfast and were encouraged to buy Gold Coast property! Catches you unaware....free bacon and eggs then will you spend $400,000 this afternoon?! We decided not this time!!
Got some work done, Andrew and Sam walked the beach. Finished dinner, watched a movie and now off to bd ready for the big Movie world adventure tomorrow.
Just looked up the Rotorua weather...yuck!!!! That could be a shock!!

Brisbane

have had a fantastic day out in Brisbane today. What a great city! We spent most of the day at the cultural centre, first with the American Impressionnism and Realism exhibition which was just beautiful and then at the museums handson science section - great!!! Kids really liked that! Actually we all did!

The security during the exhibition was very tight...I guess to be expected with such a priceless collection. Some of the paintings just hit you, such a glow to them. I certainly had never seen art this good before!

As you walk into the museum building you go down a walkway with these amazing lifesized whales hanging! complete with barnacles!

It was really special to see Aunty Liz, on this side of the ocean! It was a very cool family hangout day :)

At lunchtime we walked down the river, which I have to admit I didn't know was there, and found food around a manmade beach! A lagoon in the middle of the city! Sophie and Samuel swam and we all enjoyed the SUN!!!!!! Very hot!!!!!!!!!!!! Like our summer...but it is winter! Nice!!!

We caught the bus and train up and back all pretty easy as the stop right outside the door!

So tomorrow off to a fancy breakfast at the resort and a day with no plans as yet! Movie World on Wednesday...will let you all know!!

Sunday

Hi there! Ok been a couple of days since the last post, but the not able to post photo thing has really bugged me! Not sure why I can't either, which is worse!

However! Since the last time we have caught up with Aunty Liz on friday...very nice! and then on Saturday went for a big walk around the point here in Coolongatta to watch the surfers, waves, sea...

This is certainly a weekend/holiday place, numbers have swelled although it seems that everyone is carrying a surfboard and running towards the ocean!

They are certainly braver than us as the swell is huge!

We have a fantastic view out of the apartment right onto the beach and up the coast. The sea appears to be full of seals bobbing, which on closer inspection is hundreds of surfers all waiting for the next wave. I could think of worse ways to spend a Saturday!!

Not missing the cold weather at all, teeshirts and sunglasses for us!

Wildlife Adventures

What a day!! SOOOOOOO much fun! Have been to the Currumbin wildlife sanctuary. I cuddled a koala!!! Could come home now! have done what I wanted to do! Really heavy and smelling slightly gum leafy...:)
Kids had a great time, there were lots of shows throughout the day, one of the best was the Wild Bird show. Wedge tail eagels swooping over the crowd, there even had to be warning to hold onto your small children...just incase...would have spiced things up a little!
So informed about Australian wild life we now are back at The Beach House...kids have found the TV, cup of tea for Andrew and I, and I will fight the internet connection to see if I can upload some photos!!!!!

Another great day!

Explored the beach today and the "area"...Sophie keen to swim, just a bit cold! Andrew and i have discovered a second hand bookshop just across from the apartment...nice!

Just back from another journey down to the supermarket, handcrafted sausages for dinner tonight!

Off on an adventure!

We arrived in plenty of time at Auckland airport, and checked in to JetStar...great service :)
And only 44kg combined luggage! so room for a spot of shopping...:)
